Online Education Across Canada

Collaborative workspace where webinar platform development happens

Building tools that connect learners across distance

We're hiring people who care about the technical details that make remote learning work. People who notice when buffering interrupts a lecture, when lag breaks discussion flow, or when interface confusion costs someone their question.

What we're working on

Since 2017, we've been solving problems specific to provincial-scale education. Not just streaming video, but handling 200 simultaneous participants on rural internet. Not just chat features, but conversation threading that works when half the group types slowly.

The technical challenges are specific. A student in a remote area might have 3 Mbps down. An instructor might need to share a data visualization with 15 detailed graphs. We optimize for these real constraints, not theoretical bandwidth.

Most of our development happens in response to actual usage patterns. We analyze where people drop off during sessions, which features confuse which demographics, how different age groups navigate our interface. Then we build solutions that address those specific friction points.

Webinar Platform Developer

Full-time Remote or Pabos, QC $72K–$94K

You'll optimize our streaming architecture for bandwidth-constrained environments. That means building fallback systems that maintain functionality when connections degrade, implementing adaptive quality switching that doesn't disrupt lessons, and designing recovery protocols for dropped connections.

We need someone who can:

  • Profile network performance under various constraint scenarios
  • Implement WebRTC optimization for educational contexts
  • Debug synchronization issues in multi-stream environments
  • Design graceful degradation patterns that preserve core functionality
  • Test extensively across actual rural connection profiles

Learning Experience Designer

Full-time Remote or Pabos, QC $65K–$81K

You'll structure courses that sustain attention through two-hour live sessions. That involves analyzing engagement drop-off patterns, testing interaction timing that prevents passive watching, and designing question prompts that generate genuine discussion rather than silence.

You should be comfortable:

  • Running A/B tests on course structure variations
  • Analyzing session recordings to identify confusion points
  • Designing interactive segments that work across skill levels
  • Balancing information density with cognitive load
  • Creating assessment formats that reveal actual understanding

Student Support Specialist

Full-time Pabos, QC $48K–$58K

You'll help participants navigate technical difficulties during live sessions. That means troubleshooting audio issues while a lesson continues, guiding someone through browser settings over chat, and documenting recurring problems that need platform fixes.

This role requires:

  • Diagnosing technical issues under time pressure
  • Writing clear step-by-step instructions for non-technical users
  • Maintaining composure when multiple people need help simultaneously
  • Recognizing when an issue is user error versus platform bug
  • Contributing detailed bug reports to development team

How we work

Realistic project timelines

We schedule based on actual complexity, not arbitrary deadlines. When something takes longer than estimated, we adjust scope rather than cut corners. Quality matters more than hitting invented dates.

Direct user feedback loops

You'll see how real students use what you build. We share session recordings, usage analytics, and support tickets regularly. You'll understand which features help and which just add complexity.

Learning budget

$1,200 annually for courses, conferences, or books. Use it for something directly relevant to your work or something you're just curious about. We trust you to decide what helps you improve.

Flexible remote work

Work from wherever makes sense for you. Some people prefer home, some use co-working spaces, some come to the Pabos office occasionally. As long as you're available during core hours and participate in video calls, location doesn't matter.

Health coverage

Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on your first day. We cover 85% of premiums for you and 70% for dependents. Also includes mental health support and prescription coverage.

Reasonable hours

Standard is 37.5 hours weekly. We don't celebrate overtime or weekend work. If someone's regularly working extra hours, that's a planning problem we need to fix, not dedication to praise.
